A topless proposition

Apparently boobs are good for the economy. At least in Vassalboro, Maine.

Donald Crabtree's Grand View Topless Coffee Shop in Vassalboro, Maine, opened Monday and business has been steady all week. In fact, Crabtree reports he's already seeing return customers.

The grand opening was newsworthy enough that CNN featured it on their news site.

Crabtree, like successful entrepreneurs time immemorial is merely giving customers what they want, and in the process, doing his part to stimulate the economy (and probably other areas).

"I know what people want," he said. "People like nudity, and coffee is profitable. Sure, I'd start a coffee shop, but I'd be out of work in a week."

Will Starbucks follow suit?

I lived in Vassalboro for a time and have no desire to see anyone there naked. And anyway, where there are topless waitresses, there should be liquor, not coffee. Call me old fashioned, but there is just something perverse about an old man chewing scrambled eggs while semi-naked women cavort. And with that in mind, here are my favorite strip joints: http://marklaflamme.com/blog/take-it-off-strip-clubs-i-have-loved-and-hated

Okay. How about topless employees at the IRS - all those deadbeat tax evaders will be lining up with cash in hand. We'll get back a few billion painlessly! Come on, people, use proven tactics where needed! This will also make those agencies user-friendly.

@ Mark Great link to your post on strip clubs. Seems like the Vassalboro coffee shop leans towards the Cafe Risque on the "official Woody scale."

Interesting observations about men and these clubs.

@ Anonymous #1 The topless option has all kinds of possibilities for application.
